About This Tour

What to expect

Son Tra Peninsula shelters Da Nang Bay on its northern arm — a 5,000-hectare nature reserve that drops straight into the sea on its eastern side. The water there is extraordinary: translucent turquoise over white sand, deepening to teal above the coral shelves. This is where you'll spend your day. The group is intentionally small — six women maximum — so that the hidden beach feels genuinely private and the reefs remain undisturbed.

Your female guide and certified water instructor leads you from launch to coral, from reef to beach. No experience is needed — kayaks are stable sit-on-top models and the instructor handles everything from the safety briefing to the lunch setup. Snorkelling kit is provided: mask, fins, and a wetsuit top if the water is cool. Lunch is grilled fresh on the sand — whole crabs, tiger prawns, morning-catch fish with lemongrass and chilli. The afternoon ends with a short jungle walk along the peninsula for golden-hour cliff shots before the transfer home.

Schedule

Day itinerary

07:30
Meet at Beach
Meet your guide and instructor at the launch beach on the south side of Son Tra Peninsula. Sunscreen, waterproof bags, and safety vests distributed.
08:00
Kayak Briefing & Launch
Safety briefing, paddle technique, and self-rescue basics on the beach. Then you push off into the bay. The water is calm in the morning — ideal conditions for beginners. Your instructor paddles alongside the group the whole way.
09:30
Coral Reef Snorkelling
Anchor the kayaks in 3–4m of water above the reef. Mask on, fins on, slide in. The coral here supports parrotfish, damselfish, sea urchins, and occasional sea turtles. Your instructor enters the water with the group.
11:00
Private Beach & Rest
Paddle to the hidden beach — accessible only by water. Pull up the kayaks, lay out on the sand, swim in the shallows. No other visitors. Time to breathe.
12:00
Seafood Lunch on the Sand
Your guide sets up the portable grill on the beach. Whole crabs cracked open, tiger prawns in garlic butter, fresh fish with lemongrass and chilli, steamed rice, and coconut water straight from the shell.
13:30
Son Tra Jungle Walk
A 45-minute loop through the peninsula's protected forest. Red-shanked douc langur monkeys are almost always visible in the canopy. Your guide knows the best vantage points for golden-hour cliff photos.
15:00
Return to Hotel
Transfer back to your hotel. A small waterproof card with local reef conservation information is yours to keep.
